What is NLP?

In a nutshell, NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do. NLP provides people with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by geniuses and leaders in their field. NLP is also used for personal development and for success in business

A key element of NLP is that we form our unique internal mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter and perceive information absorbed through our five senses from the world around us.

In a therapeutic approach NLP is used to help you make changes to the way you think. Your thoughts have a powerful effect over your feelings and create your behaviours. Using NLP techniques you can learn how to have greater control over your state- no matter what is happening in your environment.

Alongside this in NLP we can use spatial anchoring to make powerful changes so in a session you may be asked to stand or sit in different places to think about different perspectives and move between points to create new perceptions.

There are many areas that NLP can be helpful:

  • Gaining clarity on your goals, vision, purpose and values

  • Overcoming Limiting beliefs

  • Gaining self confidence

  • Creating more freedom and choice over your mindset

  • Breaking unproductive behavoural patterns

  • Creating more energy and relaxation in your life

  • Dealing with unexpected situations

There are many aspects of NLP which can be very useful to use with children too.
